I just researched this. If you want one, there's almost 200 thousand people ahead of you on a waiting list, and the homes are not available in every state yet. They come completely furnished! I'm not a fan of Musk, but I think if they could speed up the building process, this could truly change the world.

We lived in modular houses when we were stationed in Turkey and Italy. They were two story 3 & 4 bedtoom. They were put up in about 3 days and ready to move in 6 or 7 days later. They were really sturdy and handled all sorts of weather. They had been in Lybia for several years, and when that base closed, they were packed up and sent to Karamursel, Turkey, and San Vito, Italy. We lived in them in both countries from 1971 to 1984. The houses in Turkey were used by the Turkish military until a few years ago when they were removed to build a bridge between Karamursel and Istanbul. We had no problems with the modular homes at all. They were God sent in areas where there was a shortage of rentable houses. I would have no problem living in one again.

I saw this on the web in another country who actually invented & builds them. He brokered the rights to build & be the only US supplier!!!
Smart as hell

I live in a mobile home. It’s older and needs soo much work. The park is infested with termites even in the trees and dirt.
I would love love love one of these homes. I’m a disabled senior and it would be perfect

35:02 trailer parks were only an eye sore to people who have money and can afford a nice home... when I was 24 I had just got out of the Army, my wife and I had our first kid and I bought a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom mobile home on a 2 acre lot for $38, 000. I put new windows, siding, insulation, insulated skirting, remodeled the entire inside. i was into it for $49, 000. I then cut down a few trees and had a local amish family mill the trees down into 2x4s and 2x6s and built a 16×28 garage they charged me $250. I bought siding and metal roofing on Facebook marketplace for $2, 500. I got a 9x10 garage door for $200 on marketplace, and a 36"x80" entry door for $50. I was into the garage/oversized shed for under $3500!

I grew up in a 4 story modular... My Dad owned a modular company...theyre assembled and shipped and stacked together in a day leaving your new build exposed to the elements for hours not months... Its a gorgeous home and my parents still live there

These would be great to set up for the thousands of homeless veterans, ( two words that should NEVER be used together anyway) instead of sending billions of dollars to foreign countries, the "gooberment " could set up several villages of these for OUR VETERANS!!!

Okay. Let's do some house cleaning.
Number one, Boxable is not owned nor operated by Elon Musk. Elon Musk is working on an affordable house that he is trying to build for $15k per unit.
Number two, the Casita Boxable, which you see in this video, cost $60, 000 per unit. It is durable. However, the price does not include shipping, permits, foundation, land cost, utilities set up and connection. In fact, shipping could cost around $7k by itself.

Tiny homes, modular homes, and now this! They are preparing us for the future, where everyone lives IN A BOX.

I’ve seen several modular houses built and they are not only attractive but functional. It is the future

To answer your question. Some houses can be fully build and ready in 3-4 months. I've seen it personally. And it was decent size. My question is are these bolted down to the ground? Would be nice for tornado reasons. Because I would be terrified in this house with a tornado

This would be a great guest house or Mother-in-law home. Maybe we can tear down some of the old commercial real estate buildings that are no longer needed and rezone the areas for box homes.

Brother I gotta say,
I like you don’t constantly interrupt your video and just let play.

I’m getting really serious about getting my family our first home!

Thank you for what you do and how you do it!

As a person who lives in a busted AF 2002, 24ft travel trailer I would cry if I could get one of these.

This is a good thing.. Imagine communities where people of very low income can have a roof over their head, and still have the essentials for comfortable living.. I'd buy one, to be sure..
