Mike, the folding house company BOXABL, was actually founded by
Paolo Tiramani & his Son Galiano Tiramani. Elon Musk does not own BOXABL, however, Elon does own an early edition BOXABL “casita” which is located at SpaceX in Texas.

Also, BOXABL’s HQ is located in Las Vegas, Nevada & they actually offer factory tours.

btw, that video you’re referencing, is full of bad info a/k/a the 20x20x10 BOXABl “casita” was never $10k. It was originally listed at $50k but now sells for $60k due to pandemic induced inflation, however, boxabl recently announced plans to sell a smaller version of the “casita” for $20k.

Hope the battery doesn’t cause house fires like the cars do. Pre fabricated homes were built here in the U.K. to rehouse those who lost their homes after WW2. They were meant to be temporary housing but in truth many of them are still in use today.

I still think it’s best to build your own tiny home, you can design and size it to your needs. Or find a trailer park where someone has passed away and has to move their trailer off the site. You can buy them dirt cheap, then have it delivered to your property. We had to sell my father-in-law‘s place brand new double wide. He only had it for a few years and we only got $15, 000 for it. He paid 68, 000 for it.

I'll stick with my 33ft tt. Has everything already to move in. Doesn't matter what kind of building theres always going to be breakdowns and repair and unexpected costs. With a travel trailer you can hook it up to your vehicle and move it wherever you want.

I think it's a great idea.
We will have to wait and see from those that have bought one and our living in it for awhile.

I just paid off my 16X80 1996 Manufactured home, it was $40, 000 and interest was 10.75%. Paid off almost two years early. Could not afford a site built home, most in my area for regular size homes are $300, 000 plus. I have mine on 4 acres that I paid off. Don't need a big house, but the $10, 000 is not practical. Tesla's have been catching fire.

I just looked at their website and it says they start at 60K plus shipping. :>)

Great idea. But I just looked up the website. The house starts at $60000. Not sure where the idea of " the $10000 house" came from. Good luck in your search.
God bless!

I like it. It's not built like a mobile home, appears more sustainable. Manufactured homes are built much better now, more like a stick home. Actually $60K isn't a lot now a days for a home. Can two be put together? I would need to see it in person, and decide. In the 70s there was a company Jim Walters, built probably 7 or 8 models, stick homes from shells to 90 percent, priced accordingly. Also Sears homes, were inexpensive stick homes. It will be interesting to see how this takes off.

I havent looked into the box homes but I remember when the electric car was first advertised, in the beginning, as being an affordable alternative to gas powered cars ..

then they came out and were priced.

I would guess 10k is for 4 walls, 12'x12' ish, a floor, roof, a door & a few windows.

But then delivery, installation and all the other things that come with it, will likely set you back 10s of thousands.

Still cheaper than a modern new home I suppose.

All said and done, you'll have a hundred grand in this! For a 19x19 structure, 360 (+ or -) square feet. Concept of 10K is awesome but will never happen

You do realize its not actually $10k .. more like starting at $60k

We have a small 2 bedroom-2 bath older cottage home with tiny kitchen and living room. It's difficult to have visitors. It would be so nice to have a small one for guests. We live in the country with no close neighbors. Thanks, Mike, for sharing this news!

It costs 10 grand just to use the trucks to set em up, and 10 grand to deliver the product!!!!😢😢😢😢😢

Keep saving your coins Mike, you won't get the shell for 10 grand. You have building experience, make you a 2-room house to start with then add on as you can. 10 grand would get you a good start on a permanent home, but not with Elon's construction!

❤❤❤😮It sure would eliminate the worldwide homeless situation. Not necessarily GIVE the houses to homeless, but make neighborhoods that the Government would actually own, but instead of just wasting all of the money on HOMELESS PROGRAMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE NOW, BUT ACTUALLY GET THE HOMELESS OFF THE STREETS AND GIVE THEM AN ACTUAL ADDRESS. Sure better than what they are doing now with all the money that does nothing to ACTUALLY END HOMELESSNESS..Mike, it's Judy with the tiny homemade trailer, that met you and Sobber, years ago. We stayed in the casino up in the mountains near Seattle..I still follow you and look forward to your videos everyday..😊😊

No delivery costs. No site prep costs. No foundation costs. Not utility hook up costs. Built to NO LOCAL CODE REQUIREMENTS. Mike so embarrassed for you posting this. Complete lack of housing construction requirements on YOUR PART..

Seems like a concept presentation looking for investors and then it's got different finish options that prices will vary!
