It sounds like a good idea to have Bellingham and Rice together but I think that Rice isn't a number six anymore and is more effective a little further into the midfield, pressurising the opposition, with his drive and energy. With the squad that Gareth has assembled, I would argue that Gordon is our most important player, which sounds mental but the fact is he is the only lw in the squad, he would create balance on the side, provide pace and a threat in behind, allow kane to drop and play him in when the opportunity arises

Kane is an excellent player, but I would use him as a sub, to come on when defences are more tired. To use his intelligence and undeniable skill, he’d probably score more goals that way.

The difference is Trent! He shouldn't be anywhere near that side, for the first 55 mins it was like playing with 10 men. Bellingham drops to 8 foden plays 10 and makes runs beyond kane, Palmer left, can swap with saka aswell to get some width on the left of needed. It's perfect for foden and kane gets to drop. Bellingham gets to boss midfield and play the position he was born too

Kane at Bayern pushes deep too, difference is he has pace on the wings to pass to.

He’s not a 9, he’s a creative cf, so he’s pushing Bellingham and foden out of position when he plays for England, and then there’s no forward option to pass to because foden is pushing centrally, teams see this and double up on saka because he’s the only player running at the wingbacks.

It’s causing issues all over the pitch and the team simply can’t develop an understanding on how to accomodate kanes game.

Foden was playing Saka's position in City. If put Trent as right back, We have to remember when Liverpool won 2 big trophies, Salah actually did huge defence works. Big reason Trent shows big trouble afterwards, because more and more Salah is lack of interest doing labor work
