Rock retains moisture as well, it’s all about how thick you lay it down

im going with rock and pavers then mulch. Hopefully that helps with the mulch run off due our rain storms we get twice a year lol

Rock is cheaper/easier in the long term, you have to replace mulch eventually. I think mulch is definitely worth it tho especially if you have plants, it is much more suited to their needs

That dark mulch is going to heat up alot more than those rocks, the rocks just hold onto the heat longer
