Konstantin, l'm a real estate developer in Tasmania, mainly involved in residential land subdivision.
Have worked in the Real Estate industry, selling, buying, some new building etc since 1972.
The Russian figures that you are quoting are totally off the scale.
In my state l have never experienced a slump to reach such an extend, not even a decline in excess of 20%.
The present Russian figures in my opinion are beyond disastrous and l imagine that, after the economy in Russia stabilizes, it will take at least a decade before any significant improvement can be expected.
The big problem are the ongoing costs associated with holding stock, especially vacant building land.
The combined expenses of interest on borrowings, council charges, government landtaxes, water and sewerage charges etc. add up to astronomical figures that are unsustainable in the longer term.
Russia could have been a paradise for all its relatively small population, considering its enormous landmass and abundance of natural resources.
The country, for centuries, has been extremely poorly governed.
What a shame!
I feel sorry for the Russian population, but until they stand up and improve their lot, they will continue to suffer.
If nothing changes...
