Newton's Three Laws of Motion are a landmark achievement in physics. They describe how all objects move. Unfortunately most people do not really understand Newton's Laws because they have pre-existing ideas about the way the world works. This film is about those pre-existing ideas. By recognizing what people are thinking, it becomes easier to describe the correct scientific concepts of Newton's Three Laws and how they differ from this 'intuitive physics'.

haters! haha, I meant to use this video as an intro to Newton's laws. Then I never got around to doing the real laws. I guess I did do one for Newton's third...

The correct laws : 
1. An object with no unbalanced forces will move at a constant velocity.
2. An unbalanced force causes an object to move with constant *acceleration*. (F=ma)
3. All forces applied to objects in a collision are equal (see : Every action has an equal and opposite reaction), it's just that the larger mass has greater inertia, causing it to accelerate less.

Interesting view - Newton was an epic genius and for over a thousand years before him everyone on Earth held ideas similar to those created in the video. The other thing is that we have accumulated ways of talking about science, and methods of doing science that are useful to learn so you can be part of the scientific community. It's also quicker to learn this way, which helps us make faster progress.

For the sake of the average uninformed person, just make a video explaining the correct laws of motion because I think you just confused 75% of the viewers.

I watched these a year ago, and i got confused as hell.. I watched them again now, and i understood all of them:
1. There is an acting force, weather it be air resistance or table resistance
2. The velocity doesn't stay constant, the acceleration does
3. The pull is the same.

For someone who is confused, the quantity that we (usually) misunderstand as force (and equate it to mv) is actually another physical quantity, momentum, denoted by the letter 'p'.
The second and third INCORRECT laws of motion are based on this misconception itself.

One of the rules in my class or lab. Clean up any mess before it becomes a bigger problem. Please don't leave your more ignorant viewers (who are by my guess at least knowledge seekers) in the lurch where all they have is an idea that what they believe is incorrect, and no satisfying substitute readily at hand to replace it. Please update with a link to a clear and approachable laymen's introduction to the Correct Laws of Motion. Thanks

My physics teacher "S N Prabakar" one day comes in the class and solves a question on the bord. Asks us to copy. Once most of the class finishes copyingit down he says "I don't think you are fit to learn physics. You didn't question me. All I wrote was wrong. Question in my class and by your questions shall you be graded not any test scores"

She will randomly pick a mood and hide the other one completely. And when you know that your woman is angry you will instantly know that some other woman somewhere is happy.
