I love, love primers. They've changed my face! My fave is Maybelline Master Prime! Very smoothing and blurring and I'll be 70 next year!

These are great tips, Risa, even if they are “old school!” I’m old school…70 years young and I finally realize I need to do my makeup how it works for me and makes me look & feel like me! Thank you for this and the reminder to do what works for us individually!! 💖🤩

I am a “retired “ makeup artist, and I cannot tell you how many times I tried to explain to women that they are not tight lining, they are water lining! This is a fantastic video, and thanks for reminding me of so many great techniques!

Love that you generously shared these helpful tips with us, Risa😊 The way it ALL clicked when you told us how to “properly” tight line so it doesn’t have to transfer to the lower lash line….wow, that would always happen to me! Now I know. Thank you❣️❣️

I followed your Bobbi Brown lipstick trick and them declutterred all the lippies I was never reaching for—keeping the ones that were actually complimentary

As a retired makeup artist of 30 plus years, I do not remember primers being a thing in the 90s. I would not have felt them to be that important if using a good foundation. However, as a 74 yr old, I have to say that a good primer is a necessity. I wouldn't think of doing my makeup without it.
I only just found your videos last week, and I find them quite edifying. You are amazing and quite lovely. Thank you.😊

What great tips.I have used dark eye shadows for eyeliner for over 40 years. My mother taught me to always wear lipstick, no matter what. It will always make you look healthy. Glad to see old tricks are still relevant

You always make me smile. When you said you understand that not everyone wants to look younger, I said, “well, I’m not one of them”. Most of us want to look our best. We make lifestyle choices snd look for products and tips to try to make that happen.

All these women are absolutely admirable and are stars, but Laura Mercier as a brand just has such a special place in my heart. What she managed to create is such a high-quality, wonderful (yet somehow not overpriced) brand with absolutely solid long-time favorite products (like her blushes or powders). If I have to compare, she is like an expensive high-quality Italian cashmere brand in fashion - no matter the trends, this is what you’d go for to feel confident, comfortable and beautiful. Their body care is absolutely sumptuous as well.
Thank you as always for sharing your professional tips, Risa🌺🌸🌷

This is such a helpful video. As a makeup artist for the last 16 years I’m often frustrated with the one size fits all style of makeup. We all have different face shapes and the high blush isn’t for everyone, especially those with long faces like me 😂

Risa, I believe I discovered your channel about 2 years ago and I haven’t missed a video since. This is likely my favorite one. I don’t always care as much about new products because they might be unavailable or different price points in Canada here. But any tips and personal opinions - I love those. You are very genuine and authentic.
I remember a quote somewhere that Beauty has no rules but makeup has a theory. I tend to go with that.
I will probably try every single tip you mentioned.
Thank you for the realness you bring into this “instagram” world.

The way you tight lined was how I thought it was supposed to be done. And the other tips are brilliant.

LOVED this, Risa!! I’d love more 90’s / early 2000’s nostalgia videos. I miss those days. Would be cool to hear about your favorites from back then and more about behind the scenes of the brands.
