Joni will never die. Someday she will leave us but her music endures and will live forever. I admire the poetry of her lyric beyond any other songwriter. With the briefest phrase she can invoke an image as clearly as some use paint or camera. And more, there is some indescribable quality to her song that mirrors back the subtlety of human emotion. Throughout my life I have felt my heart and soul reflected in her music. She tells stories of other people and events, but to the listener it is as intimate as if from personal experience. Her voice is itself a unique instrument. I can never quite decide if that is a joy or a misery for my voice is not capable of singing her work for my own enjoyment.

I am a close friend of Joni’s and I believe everything you said is true and that’s no easy achievement considering how many different stories are out there. I can assure you she has never been more at peace, fulfilled, more optimistic, 100% cognizant of her past, her present and her future and yes funny than right now.
