Still life in ink wash

Thank you so much. I was visiting a museum today and struggling to get a decent ink and wash of a statue. Nothing incredibly complicated but oh well 😐 I would love to see myself trying this approach more often, so here I have my challenge for February. I found your channel by watching your video on Flex Nib fountain pens. I do watercolor, not ink wash, but this is a great class. Your explanations are clear, with lots of great tips, that also apply to watercolor. I'm so glad I found your channel! Looking forward to more videos. :)

Around 29:00 ....Yeah, I spoted a little portrait ( bust portrait ) in the middle of that jar, vase, whatever it remainds me of van Eyck's Anrolfini's Portrait (husband and whife ) and of that convexe mirrow van Eyck painted in the back of that room....😃

One only question, isn't it better to cover with the first wash everything that is not white?, this way the overlap will integrate them better to the background.
