Ford Sync Apple CarPlay Not Working

This video shows how we diagnosed and repaired a 2017 F150 Sync 3 system. The complaint for the vehicle was they were unable to use their Waze app or Apple CarPlay. In the end the media / USB hub had to be replaced.

Did you replace just the housing or the cord on the back as well? I’m having the same issue in my 2018 f150

Hey, i connect the usb and i got the same what you have at 1:13 but after 911 assist carplay doesnt show... on iphone 11 and now on 15 pro doesnt work to (IOS 17.3). I'll try reset computer but doesnt work... What do you recommended?

My CarPlay will only work in the morning but not in the afternoon, what do you recommend?

My car won’t delete old contacts from Bluetooth or apple carplay preferences. If I try deleting any old phones or friends phones it goes right back into the system if I do a master reset or turn the car off. Is really frustrating because the only people that can use CarPlay are those old contacts that won’t go away

2018 Ford F150 here. When I plug into the USB-A plug it says it’s charging then goes off and back on over and over. Both USB-A plug act the same way, so it seems like it’s not getting a good connection. Done the reset by pushing the two buttons at the same time and the master reset and still functions the same way. Looking to replace the media hub. Do you agree that’s the next step?

I can not figure mine out. Software is sync 3 3.0. Installed the new usb hub, plugged in with official apple lightning cable. No carplay anything. Just normal functionality like with the original usb module. Have even tried out 2 different replacement usb modules but no luck. Very frustrating.

Shouldn’t CarPlay come up even without usb?

Did a master reset and replaced the media hub and CarPlay still won’t work. (2018 F150)
