Super helpful! Also would love to see an updos tutorial for going out with friends, to work, church, etc. where it's more formal. Thanks for all your help!!

I have a sensitive scalp and personally cannot wear a high bun for too long. Claw clip hair styles, low to mid ponytails, and braids have been my go to. For extra security in high intensity kickboxing session, I will do a mid ponytail with a scunchie and add a big claw clip to pin it up so the weight of my long hair is evenly distributed. Takes a few tries but works like a charm! Braids cause the least amount of stress and wear those when I'm not wearing my hair natural. It's a great protective style

Protective hair styles are a must when trying to grow out your hair. I have been doing them for years. But 5 years ago I cut on 30 inches if hair to donate and i had a pixie cut for a year. Then I grew it out again. its now back down to my waist. People always comment on how fast my hair grows but I thinks it purely from not breaking from damage. I cant wait to see your progress for you hair growth!

Love that you’re growing your hair out! I’ve been growing mine out for almost 5 years now and I absolutely love it being long. Actually looking for ways to keep it healthy so it could be all it could be is how I found the curly girl method and your channel. I look forward to watching your mermaid hair journey!

This helps so much! I too am a chronic traditional hair tie user! I did not realize the damage I’m causing. Time to try something new. Thanks Courtney!

I’ve broke hair ties too. I hate when it feels loose .I needed to hear this today . Thanks. Can’t afford the real nice silk ones. I’m gonna look into other silk ones❤

This summer, I started using a swim cap made for long or curly hair. I put my hair in a loose pineapple or twisted bun (if I'm not trying to preserve my curls that day) with the invisibobble and gently put on the very stretchy cap. It takes some practice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my hair stayed mostly dry, my curls stayed curly and I could enjoy swimming under water for literally the first time in years. I had pretty much quit swimming because I hated having long, wet hair that took forever to dry. It's such fun again.

I'll never quit riding for my hair, but helmet hair is another story.

Thank you! This was helpful. One video I really want and need to see is how to put wavy hair up for professional or public scenarios, like the office, church, an evening out. What are cute and easy ways to put up wavy hair without damaging it or to extend a wash day or after a wash day failure, when you need it to look especially professional and nice? Buns or braids ideas?

Will you be reviewing the new Curl Foaming gel that manes by mell created with Verb? 😊 I really want to know how it is but it's a bit pricey!

I have to put my hair up for work every day. This is so helpful! What size scrunchie from Lily’s did you use?

Thanks Courtney for your videos! I've learned a lot with them. I quit putting my hair in a pineapple because my scalp hurts. What I'm struggling with the most is finding a way to put my hair up at work. I work in a laboratory so I have to tie my hair, but I have contact with patients so it has to look presentable. I'm no sure how to tie my hair in a way that doesn't cause damage, that preserves my waves more or less and looks presentable. Maybe I'm asking too much 😅

Thanks for this Courtney! Do you have any tricks for removing the invisibobble? I have very fine low density hair and often loose hairs removing the invisibobble unless I do it very slowly stretching it out along the way.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the flippy thing you did in the pineapple for longer hair 🤣 even tried watching it in slow motion with my husband pausing for me. Help!! 😂😂😂

I just got that same shine oil and had no idea how to use it. What a great tip! I can’t wait to try it as a treatment!

💜 Your videos are so helpful and encouraging! Not sure if you’ve seen these before, but Invisibobble also has an extra hold style for thick/curly hair (8x hold, compared to Power’s 5x). Wondering if your sister might benefit? She has very similar hair to mine, and I thought I’d share!
