The hypertrophy series: big vs small muscle groups

In this hypertrophy series installment I introduce the concept of big vs small muscle groups and try to dispel certain misconceptions that might hurt your gains. The topic of muscle group responses disparity when it comes to stimulus will be discussed further in later episodes via the notions of volume/intensity (via rep ranges) and frequency (via proper training session spacing) that will also be brought to the table

I never really thought about this and because of this video I’ve realized I’ve been working my biceps too hard, too frequently and my chest not hard enough and not frequent enough. This really opened my eyes to what I’ve been doing wrong

2.15k subs? What? This channel needs 215k not 2.15k. 💪

Hey bro serious question you upload pretty much everyday and you give pretty good information my question is once your channel gets really big in let’s say 2 years plus or something will you redo some of your more important older videos in which you explain things like this one?

I used to do the big x lifts every workout, three times a week, and on very light weight would end up destroyed every rest day. didn't understand at the time that I was doing way too much and was accumulating fatigue like a racecar.
using your novice template I was able to focus entirely on one compound lift per session and I can now hit weights much higher than before, with no pain or injury.
I have just started a 4 day program which is based on the 4/5 gentleman split you made. it looks like a lot of exercises but I'm in and out with 1.5 hours so it's perfect

In your opinion, what muscle group is the easiest to build for most people?

had to use hisoka as your thumbnail lol. otherwise he's pretty jacked and kind of looks like a main singer for a pretty boy k-pop group. i remember that scene where gon and killua were trying to look for hisoka, and yeah... not gonna say too much about it...

For the sake of convenience, you forget that these so-called 'small muscle groups' are also stimulated during compound exercises. For example: Chest + front delts, biceps, triceps, Back + biceps, rear delts, forearms.
I once had a new client, his biceps didn’t want to grow, so he trained them several times a week, to no avail. When I advised him to train his biceps with 5-7 work sets once a week, muscle growth started.
