That leg is so cool. Love the steampunk look.

You must hike to the top of Mt. Fuji while carrying your prosthetic leg only using one leg. When you reach the peak, you will find a small hut in which an old craftsman who’s family has been forging prosthetic legs for the past millennia m. You must then gather raw iron for him to forge you a new prosthetic leg that will be better than the leg you lost…

As long as he’s covered by your health insurance

You should bring your leg “passport” (it’s got the prosthesis details) so you can get assistance from Ottobock even if you’re abroad. I always make sure I take mine when travelling to another country.

Im stuck in a wheelchair and anytime it’s broken i go to a machine shop. They have welded the frame. Replaced bearing, fixed the foot rest, , fixed the arm rest, and adjusted the backrest. And it only took them less than 30 minutes. I’d start there. When it comes to equipment and things, machinist are some of the smartest people on how things should work, and how to fix them. worth a try

Realistically I feel like most ppl would bring crutches / mobility aid of choice as a fallback :/ (unless you have contacts in Japan who know the health system?)

The prosthetist you see should show you how to adjust any screws, and the company that manufactures your mpk should have an international phone number you can call. Credentials- Physical Therapist specializing in amputee care.

Japan also isn't very disability friendly, at least according to Japan eats. There are restaurants where you'll have to walk up stairs or just not eat.

You should be ok in Australia, most major hospitals have a prosthetic expert on call for emergencies. I would take some form of back up just in case tho 👍🏼

I wouldn't be surprised if here in Australia they'll help you out either for free or at very little cost.
Our Healthcare system is pretty awesome.

That said, it sounds like its time to start learning how to adjust things yourself. Ask your person to show and explain whats/he does each time and help you be more self sufficient.

Here in the UK prostheses are owned by the NHS (unless you buy your own). Therefore we can’t insure them separately- seems silly, no?
That said, I’ve heard that some travel insurance companies will cover them for “normal” travel and activities so just to get basic adjustments done should be easy enough.
It may be worth finding out where your nearest limb centre is to where you’ll be staying xx

you could stop in a hospital / doctors office if something happens and see if they could guide you to someone who could help. you also could just have something like a small wheelchair if you are in a emergency. enjoy your trip :3

Maybe make a post on some sort of Japan or Japanese travel subreddit and ask there

Personally I would learn how to adjust everything on your own, even if its a temporary fix, it could still get you from A-B.

Which city are u going to in Australia Alex? I can help u if ur going to Melbourne. Majority of public hospitals have a Prosthetic department.

So two options

1. Just take every leg you have to have backups jf one fails
2. Just walk into a strange portal that will bring you to the lands of arkafan, there you will train for years with the legendery dwarf blacksmith, you search everywhere for materials like mytril and demonite and finnaly you make the ultimate leg. With it you beat up go out of the portal and it's fine because time moves differently in there so now you have 3 hours to catch your flight good luck

Btw did you get a hair cut?
Edit: well shit I was right😂 nice hair👌

No, but you gave me an idea for a business.
I never even thought about carrying spare leg for travel. How do I get one?
