I try to dress nicely but I have switched to a bit more casual for warmth. It’s been super cold in WI so I’m trying to do my best to keep warm and still show reverence.

Appropriate dress is always a must esp for woman. In Latin Mass we are wearing veil too, just showing respect to our Lord in biblical way!

Excellent video! I would love a video covering the use of lay Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers in the Church today. It seems that there are many abuses going on. What exactly does the Church approve?

Agree with this. At one time, I used to think, we are taking our souls and that's important, so what if I'm wearing flip-flops, Jesus sees the real me. As I got older, I began to understand and see why my mom would dress so beautifully for Mass. She had a separate handbag for Mass, separate shoes for Mass and her clothes for Mass were never won anywhere else, but to Mass alone. She would dress up as a respectful Fijian woman would. I am trying to be more like her now ... ditch the flip-flops and I try to dress my children differently too.

Every time we go to Mass, we relive the Passion of JESUS CHRIST in Calvary. Pray for the "Delegates of GOD" (Priests), many are weak in Confession & sometimes you can tell Peter isn't Simon Peter.

We should, of course, love Jesus more than anyone. At Mass, we celebrate Jesus' love being so great that He suffered and died for us. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus for the same reason. I'm positive Jesus knew that His innocent, pure Mother would suffer 7 occasions of heartache and sorrow. Heaven is at the Mass, including the angels. I don't mean to berate anyone, but to me, we certainly owe our God the love and respect to dress nicer than at any other time. I agree with you, Dwayne. The poor predominantly appear nicer dressed than those who have more money. Might that be due to a greater degree of humility? If you are uncomfortable in your nice attire, offer it up to Jesus. The poor souls in purgatory would certainly be grateful.

As a child, I would go to liturgy in a dress. Admittedly, in HS, I would wear shorts and t shirt. After having children, I wore jeans or pants, something befitting a mom. Now I've been wearing jeans and button down shirts. I've noticed men my age wearing cargo shorts and flip flops to liturgy. It's their choice, but I think its inappropriate. I also remembered my wedding dress was a classic strapless gown but I was told I had to cover my shoulders or no wedding. Btw can anyone tell me why women used to cover their heads?

There are parts of the world where wearing some nice button up shirts, a nice flat bottom button up shirt and some nice leather sandals are dressing up…due to the heat of the day. I live in a hot part of the world. I wear button up shorts (Chino style), guayaberas and nice leather( one color) sneakers to Mass in The summer. In the winter….I wear slacks or nice jeans with Guayaberas…wand the same dressy sneakers (think Cole Haan style). It’s fine. I agree that gym shorts and T shirts are bad.

Certain time dressier. Our neighbor wore coveralls all week then for Sat. Mass wore nice jeans a golf shirt and a cap. But he worshipped -s-.

Is it alright to be in traditional ethnic dressing for Mass or only Western formal wear is???

I'm from the smallest contry and island in the world.i see that's It's all evil..the son and the father is not looking you by wat you wear ..but by wat you do.and how you live..god is love❤

I have always felt when you visit God in church you should dress properly! It doesn't have to be expensive or over the top! Just don't look like you just came out of the fields with sloppy, dirty jeans and tennis shoes! Or you are at the beach with short shorts! Young people have gone to far in showing every nook and cranny of their bodies! Being modest doesn't mean you are not "cool". It just means you respect yourself and those around you!

"at least I show up" ..Wow, talk about being a spiritual zygote is worshipping at the altar of self, thinking you do God a favour by showing up ! It's hard to comprehend our God and all He is and all He has done for us If the faithful tried to contemplate it, I think the need to discuss modesty would not be necessary
