First DoorDash Shift As A Gold Dasher… Is It Worth It?

Today is my First Doordash Shift as a Gold Status Doordasher . After over 4 years of being a doordash driver and worrying about becoming doordash top dasher , they’ve officially gotten rid of Top Dasher in my market and rolled out the new Doordash Rewards tiers .

We are going to be doordashing today as a gold status door dash driver with an acceptance rate of 70% and you will firsthand get to see the doordash driver experience to see if it’s actually worth it being a doordash gold tier doordasher

$1.08 a per mile you are making less than minimum wage after taxes and expenses. Have to be $2.00+ to make sense. This is why trying to chase after DoorDash platinum tiers often results in DoorDash husling you the driver since you have to take crappy orders to keep that status. Multiapp is the only way to go.

Platinum does help, cause you can get a catering bag for catering orders. I also tend to get a few more “high paying” orders than the other levels. But in the end I still have days where it is just garbage

I am excited to see the platinum videos. Platinum has made a HUGE difference in my market. My hourly rate now is always over $20, which is great because I do not multi-app. Plus, I love the Dash Now option since my schedule is crazy.

Not to be negative but honestly doordash isn’t the way it used to be. Shouldn’t be penalized for not taking orders you don’t want to take. I understand you must adapt with everything but dashers have absolutely no say in that and we keep their business running along with the customers.

Do folks seriously not know.... If you let the timer run out instead of declining it doesn't go against your AR. Sometimes it will pause you dash, but you just unpause again . This is how you save AR and still not have to take those "few" bad orders.
(Note: This is for when you get, like 1 bad order or 2 out of 10). Idk what happens if you try to just ignore multiple orders in succession..

Seeing these compared to my wife's platinum status is wild. She gets like $8+ to drive 2 miles. $20 for 2.7 miles. $5.50+ for 0.9 miles
