Am 56 pursuing a graduate degree for a career change. It all depends on what a person wants like Steve said. Earning my degree will make me feel fulfilled and an example to my kids and grandkids.

All Steve heard was “going back to school”. She wants to be a social worker. Self help books can’t give you that credential. And if the Bachelors and Masters degree that she’ll get in five years will only cost $35, 000 that’s a bargain. She ought to go for it. She’ll be 60 by the time she’s done and have another 15 or 20 years to work in that field.

Definitely did not make 6 figures. Unless you have absolutely no knowledge of how to handle money, you don't go from six figures to thinking about college loans.

Personally it doesn't matter what age you are to decide to go back to school. As long as you have that drive to obtain your degree, everything should fall into place. Do yo what makes you happy. You can't go wrong doing that.

She could go to community college if she likes learning. If she wants to make a difference in the community, maybe use some of that 6 figures to give back:)

I'm 24 and already thinking about fulfilling my dream of being a Qualified teacher (little kids) but not working for the traditional school system. I'm a qualified nurse but my passion is with the little ones...keep my qualification for now just and one day opening a day care centre or travelling to Asia to teach English to children...that's it. I got time and there's no better time than now

I feel the same way like Steve, I want all education available to better my life in a way which is not connected with "school" knowledge, facts or figures.
