Thank you for this very helpful tip. Well Done Sir!! As said by many commenters here, you've saved my printer from a severe thrashing and a possible execution! Before I saw your clip, I went to the Canon forum, they had me pulling out the cable, cleaning the print-heads and a whole heap of other bollox. All I got was inky fingers that look like I've stroked a rainbow! My grandson think looks 'Cool'.

This really did the trick. My printer wouldn't stop stating it had no black ink after I recharged the cartridge and cleaned it. The reset button method worked inmediately. Thanks!
