This game fucking me up like no other, i think its my favourite game ever, mostly because i identify with almost every character, and the mentality of the game itself is pretty much the same i have, but it made me realise something at the end, i am very similar to jimmy but i have the chance to be better, to not belittle myself, to not be a bad friend, to commit less mistakes, to allow myself to love and make more friends and feel better about life and not pretend that by just spiraling for hours i can become a better person and be happy by doing that for 2 more years. But things aren't going to be done themselves, and I'll have to get my shit together and stop been a lazy smartass to achive anything, and if all my efforts go to waste because of some bullshit i cant even control, then at least I'll have this game to remeber that i can try again and apologize if I've wronged anyone by accident

Swansea's monologue is probably one of my favorite dialogues in the game, a guy whose been through the worst of life and still enduring.

the way anya's quote was the only one not included, her speech always cut off, only being observed... yes indeed, it does hurt.

As much as I hated Jimmy, he is one of the best parts about the remarkable game, especially the fact that you play as him. In a way the player is trapped like Curly is trapped, only able to watch and never able to truly make choices. We are stuck as he drags everyone down alongside him in his death spiral. And what’s worse is that he truly believes that all that he’s done has been to fix the situation. It’s all the crews fault. They never give him time to think after all.

And in the end, Jimmy’s delusions won as he believed he was the hero of the story, having sacrificed himself to “save” Curly.

He believed this "good" moment outweighed his many, many worse moments.

Phenomenal game. It’s one that sits with you past the end credits and cause that pit in your stomach to swell.

This game made me physically ill. but, like, in a good way. rare to find a horror game that's actually well written and not just a series of jumpscares.

What hurts me is that Jimmy still found a way to resent Curly. Despite Curly being the only one who actually LIKED Jimmy as a friend, Jimmy resented Curly for being in a higher position than him.
Jimmy bit the hand that fed him and it was his FRIEND. If that's how he treats his best friend it's little wonder he uses other as pawns.

Daisuke and Swansea always hits me, Swansea was a broken man who tried to escape his own reality and went into a spiral of self-destruction, he is clearly a person who went into a lot, while Daisuke is the polar opposite, he is a cheerful and friendly man who will see the positive side of everything and everyone, he may be dumb, but he always tries to help others and do his best at his work, Swansea acknowledges this, he seemingly can’t stand Daisuke in a superficial aspect, but deep down he develops kinda like a fatherly love for Daisuke and wants to protect that brightness of him so Daisuke won’t end up being a grumpy old man as like him.

Swansea’s whole plan to get Daisuke end up in the cryopod demonstrates that, he knew that the cryopod was working all this time but he hide it not bc he wanted it for himself, but bc he wanted Daisuke to be the one gets saved.

Now, of course, he's in juvie, and I have a big responsibility, but in a way..

I took control of my life again.

I wish her ending had been happier.

I think Swansea’s character is super interesting and deserves more analysis, i feel like he acts as Jimmys foil post crash, because outwardly he looks like he’s trying to avoid responsibility by drowning himself in alcohol while Jimmy is asserting himself as captain and attempting to make it seem like he is doing his best for the crew. When it comes down to it Swansea takes the greater responsibilities for the things Jimmy does like protecting the last cryopod and putting Daisuke out of his pain when he gets injured, as well as attempting to take Jimmy down when everything goes to hell. Swansea does not want responsibility but takes it, and Jimmy craves it but does not have the ability to actually take it.

As someone who is still very young, Daisuke's line "I just never knew what I wanted to be." Hit me HARD. Its difficult finding what you want to be, where you want to go, what you want to do. It almost feels unreal, after a relatively sheltered childhood. The inpending responsibility of taking care of yourself, being yourself, and making sure you dont become like J*mmy. It's a lot.
