The Catch in Focus" mode is great for people like me that have bad eyesight and is available on my the K-7, K-30, & K-70. I use it for close-up shooting mostly but the only drawback I've experienced with it is when using some older manual lenses on stopping down the f-stop, the focus peaking doesn't work if you drop down too far. Outside of that I recommend using it when you can. I have a plan to use it this summer when I go after some hummingbirds.

Bummer, I was hoping this would be a good solution for handheld marcro photography. My 50mm macro does not have a AF/MF on the lens 😕
