I called them about 2 of my 5ah batteries going bad and they sent 2 more no hassle. Love the tools and batteries.

I am very happy with the flex tools I bought, and use every day, for my jobs. I understand that as it has happened also with other brands and products, a produced lot might have had an issue that needs to be taken care of. If Flex takes care of it, honors warranties, and continues to bring us innovation, cool features, and powerful tools, I am happy with them. I just wish they would give us more variety of tools.
And, if it is a design flaw, that you have found, of a first generation tool, I would not consider them a trash brand. Even SpaceX rockets have been improving generation after generation. I have faith in Flex and want them to be around for many years. Dewalt, Milwawkee, Makita have been in the market for longer, I wonder how theirnfirst generation products would compare against their latest ones, in performance and durability.

My flex tools have been great
I’m a general and use them with contentment 😊

I know my 2 cents probably won’t add much but I think it’s important to mention. I am on the Flex platform since launch and have had some problems with the tools but nothing to send home about. Any issues I have had they sent me out a replacement. The part that I feel like is important to mention that we usually see comparisons of a Gen 1 tool going against Gen 4 Milwaukee and newest model Dewalt. I understand it’s easy to compare current models but again this is a learning experience for Flex and if they weren’t listening to their customers feed back they wouldn’t have recalled the batteries. So I think down the road they will be even better, so forgive me if I don’t write them off for their Gen 1 impact driver.

Flex is a bit of an oddity for me. I love their tripod light and fan. Their quick eject impact is too bulky, but mine isn't underpowered.
Flex wanted to take on milwaukee, so their primary focus seems to be on power versus both power and ergos. That's why their hand tools feel clunky to me.

Their table saw looks good to me though, being dual powered. Their 18g brad nailer also looks pretty good to me, but I've got the m18 fuel 18g, so not a tool I'm planning on replacing anytime soon.

2 things that are important to me when investing in power tools specifically. 1. Availability (Can I buy this tool in various different stores in my area if I don't want to buy online). 2. Reliability (Will this tool get the job done long term without issues). The tools don't need to win races performance wise to get the job done either if it breaks in the process of doing so. Milwaukee, Dewalt and Makita are my go to 3 tool brands because they meet the 2 criteria I just mentioned. Ryobi has a few good tools for DIY that I don't mind either. I'm not a fanboy of either brand and I like options. Its a shame Flex failed both criteria. I like success stories when it comes to tools. I want companies to keep making better tools and learning from their past mistakes. Thats my 2 cents.

I just switched to it from Milwaukee, weird at first but drill drive, super impressed. I work with metal and i burned trough hand full of milwaukee fuels …. So far pretty good 👍

Fpr what it's worth I work at Lowe's and noticed a lot of the Flex tools missing from the display location. Asked a coworker in the tools dept and he had a list of "stop sale" Flex items.. guessing a bunch of recalled shit

Damn, I just purchased some Flex. Your last videos, as well as other channels, made me interested.

The flex impact driver is a known problem. Same reason why I don’t use it as much because it seems to protect itself from overheating in long uses. Even the flex circular saw has that issue

Love tools and tactics. So glad I found you both!

Very surprising results to say the least. Just out of curiosity…I wonder how Kobalt tools would fair under those cold conditions? Since they’re made by the same manufacturer

Lowes should dump Flex and increase Metabo HPT fuller line as they are fully stocked with tblheir nailers and fasteners

Well, I used my Flex impact (same model) today for the first time in real world use (disassembled a conveyor system with a thousand 13mm bolts) and it was a damn pleasure to use. And sounds like a formula 1 car to boot. If it ever fails, I have a lifetime warranty. It kind of sounds like maybe you beat the shit out of your tools?

Sad about flex. Always like more competition but inconsistency with tools just like workers is a big no no.

I have all Dewalt tools, but i’m no fan boy, I would buy Milwaukee if I wasn’t already in the Dewalt ecosystem, I have so many batteries that it’s just so prohibitive, that’s how they get ya, on any platform you kind of stick with what you can power. maybe one day i’ll have a garage sale lol but for now I see no reason, been doing my job for years with Dewalt, but I don’t claim them to be “better” than other brands.

Ha! I said that watching a flex video.. in all seriousness.. how does everyone put so much confidence in flex.. they were doing well and around for a long time as a company.. but pretty new as far as a known brand in power tools..i literally asked why the confidence in them when they haven't proven themselves with any longevity! Fucking knew it.
