One must take care cooncerning the number of trades made in any account type. The government can deem yor trading as that of a professional and tax all gains as ordinary income. Margin, cash, RRSP, RIF, LIF, TFSA are not excluded from this ruling. The same likely applies in the USA. Capital gains must be reported as they occur. Therefore, it may be best to trigger them seldomely or, better still, never.

Nobody is being told that the must drive an EV. One can drive their ICE until they are absolutely banned the ICEs for the health problems that they cause in the rest of the population.
