One of the legends about the Emerald Tablets of Thoth suggests that they may date back to an incredible 36,000 BC. and were written by Thoth, an Atlantean priest, and king who founded a colony in Egypt after the sinking of Atlantis. As the ruler of the ancient Egyptian race for 16,000 years, from 50,000 BC to 36,000 BC, it is believed that he was responsible for the progress of the barbarian people to a higher level of civilization. Thoth achieved immortality by being able to depart from life at will without dying. His knowledge allowed him to be the leader of the various Atlantean colonies, including those in Central and South America. Before he left Egypt, he is supposed to have built the Great Pyramid at Giza, which was mistakenly believed to be built by Cheops and to have placed guards chosen from the elite of his people to guard the entrance to the Great Halls of Amenti. There he hid his knowledge. The successors of these guardians later became the pyramid priests who revered Thoth as the god of wisdom.

And as all things have been & arose from one by the mediation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.
The Sun is its father, the moon its mother, the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth is its nurse.
The father of all perfection in the whole world is here.
Its force or power is entire if it be converted into earth.
Separate thou the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross sweetly with great industry.
It ascends from the earth to the heaven & again it descends to the earth & receives the force of things superior & inferior.
By this means you shall have the glory of the whole world
& thereby all obscurity shall fly from you.
Its force is above all force. For it vanquishes every subtle thing & penetrates every solid thing.
So was the world created.
From this are & do come admirable adaptations whereof the means (or process) is here in this. Hence I am called Hermes Trismegist, us having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world.
