His head in the lead, his body parallel to the ground, he was not entirely transparent but as heat rising from a desert floor. toward me he came and then turned up. three feet above the eave of the house there was nothing left of him to see and I knew then that he was everywhere; he was in the air that I breathed and the sun on my face.
