I have a problem with the term "replacing Chester". Chester died 7 years ago and Linkin Park has been without a Lead Singer ever since. I could hardly call it "replacing", but instead "filling the gap".

In my book, "replacing Chester" would mean they kicked him out of the Band and hired another singer to replace him, which wasn't the case.

I love Linkin Park, and I'm glad they're back, but I feel like there's so much shit going around (unintentional or not) that I feel like this won't end well.

Continuing Linkin Park means honoring Chester's legacy. Mike was doing his own solo stuff, could've easily released the new album under a new name and never play Linkin Park songs ever again, but how would that be keeping Chester's legacy alive? The songs Chester helped create with the band deserve to be heard, even if someone else sings his parts. I don't look at Emily as someone replacing Chester since Mike made it clear during the livestream when he said, “in the role of Chester Bennington is each of you, ” meaning no single person could ever fill his shoes. Chester’s presence and impact are irreplaceable, and keeping the band going ensures his legacy remains a part of that journey.

All TRUE LP fans are gonna be with the band no matter who they choose or what they do unless it is PROVEN FACT (YES, AS IN HARD EVIDENCE) that something wrong is going on. Ive been that hardcore LP fan ever since i can remember. I loved them since before their debut when Mark Wakefield was the singer, I loved them throughout the many sound changes they went through, and I still love them even now. The 7 years of silence is only interpreted of how much pain they've actually experienced when losing their brother

the sad thing about "the internet" is that people will never let you forget your past.
people are not perfect, they make mistakes. but that doesn't mean we can't learn from them and change.
she clearly saw Matt as a friend, AT THE TIME.
but she now knows she was misleaded, and now she stands with the victims.
so she learned, grew and changed her perspective. good for her!

people should really look at how a person is now, rather than how they were 10 (or whatever) years ago.
cause we all learn and evolve, we all grow.
and having our past mistakes rubbed in time and time again, is not gonna help us grow.

I agree with Jamie and Cedric. Its not about Chester being replaced. For a lot of people it is the Scientology and what she did to to the Jane Doe. Back in the day, Mike told a story about the lable taking Chester aside, in private, and trying to get Chester to drop the guys a go it on his own. Chester told the label to eff themselves. The band did not repay that loyalty.

Linkin Park didn't die when Chester bailed on life! They waited 7 years to move on. Other bands have replaced lead singers and continued on successfully. AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, VAN HALEN, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS...(Oddly with Chester Bennington)! So, replacing members is not uncommon. They have been more than respectful. Jaime Bennington can voice his opinion... but he is not in the band. Linkin Park 2.0 has arrived. Like them or hate them... feel however you feel! But, please stop telling the rest of us how we should boycott Linkin Park because you dont like the fact that they have finally moved on!

I seriously doubt she supports him. She was his friend at the time and she wanted to support him but as it turns out he was a bad person and she worked him out. People need to move on. The internet just likes to throw stones
