My parents are strict too when I said I was bored they immediately said ''you cannot said that word in this house now go do your homework'' and if I get a 99 my mom was like ''why can't you get a 100? You need to study more''

Whenever I would tell my parents “I’m bored” they would start giving me a lecture like. “You can’t be bored now, your too young to be bored! You want to know what it’s like to be bored? How about you go to the hospital because that’s really boring than this amazing household we have right here!”

I am currently reading harry Potter and love it and when I say I'm bored my parents say Why are you bored you shouldn’t be bored I was never bored as a kid

i wasn’t allowed to read Harry Potter until i turned 11. Took years of convincing but it was magical when i got the whole set as a surprise on my bday!

I wasn’t allowed to read past book 3 of Harry Potter in elementary school, my mom knew the books pretty well from my sister and thought 4 and up would be too scary for a little kid. I ignored her advice, and read up to book 5, at which point I went “wow, I think she had a point, I’m pretty creeped out right now” and waited a few more years to read the last two. I guess she was right 😂
