If you have just a few clips that you want to export, just hit the R key to bring up the range tool, click the clip you want to export, and hit Command E to export. Then repeat. No need to make compound clips if you have only a few to export. This batch export method really comes in handy when you have a bunch of clips that you need to export out at the same time. Thanks so much for watching and the continued support on the channel! 💙

Or you can individually send them to compressor with help of range tool and export them all at once, or even better download Command Post and batch export them directly for the timeline :)

Command Post isn’t perfect and it gets a bit finicky with large batches, but it’s a life saver. With my day job edits it’s a must to bounce down edited clips. That would definitely be a recommendation for FCPX to develop.

I use to do it the same way for Video Stocks ;)
But now, I use CommandPost. Because something most people don't know is that you can actually export part of your timeline by using a Range Tool selection, and this will export only this part.
What CommandPost does, is kind of making a Macro for that. You can select a bunch of clips in your timeline, Batch Export it in CommandPro and they ask you to not move the mouse during the process: it will very quickly create a range over each clip and export it, one by one :D

And, on top of that, this is only one feature of CommandPost, and it's completely free 🤩

Brilliant, thank you! I would like to create individual timelines from sections in a master timeline indicated with markers. Does anyone know how that is possible?

LOL, thank you for this workaround! It’s kludgy, but I can see its usefulness for my projects.

Can you create a smart collection using the original log footage from the browser then just add a rec709 conversion kit or any other to all in the smart collection, then batch export? And would compressor be useful for any of this? Tia, love your content brotha

Hey @dylanjohn or anybody, How can I export from the project the original clip with slog 3 and not losing any quality? I do not see any original media options when selecting clips from my project original media? Thanks I would appreciate it if some one knows the best option in the export panel what is closest to original quality so I can color grade in Davinci or send the original files for color grading..

Hello Dylan! Thank you for the video! The option "Library Smart Collection" is disable on my FCP, I'm using the last version, do you know how to solve this?

Does this method work for sound files too?

Hey thanks for the video!
The best solution to me is select clips and use the batch render export using the free app CommandPost

Dylan I’m looking for a full beginner course on Final Cut Pro, I noticed you don’t have one. Do you have one you can recommend? I’d rather not piece together youtube videos, I need a course that’s structured in sequence. Thanks!

Wish there was a better way to do this indeed, I’m looking for a faster way to export for stock footage, I guess you must be exporting stock footage also, do you use Blackbox?

CommandPost should be able to Batch Export Active Timeline. I could be wrong.

I would also buy a FCP Project + media trimmer. Worx4 X is not the best solution.

Command post a tad slow but works most of the time
