Holy Moly. I cannot believe it's been 3-years.

1:52 ford tech here. I perform software updates regularly. Ford doesn’t allow modules to be updated all at once. It’s one module at a time and yes they do hold a shit load of info. Not only that, but a tech has to be present with the laptop basically the entire time to supervise the update because when one is done, the next module has to be started manually so yeah sometimes updates can take forever and a day to finish. A lot of times you have to road test them when you’re done too to make sure the updates went through fully with no bugs. Especially with Blue Cruise

I've had premium, standard range, rwd for two years and over 45, 000 miles. It's held up really well. I got the tires replaced after about 43, 000 miles. I replaced the tires and rims with the old GT rims and got some hankook tires. I wanted wider tires, and the old GT rims look really nice. I actually use the frunk all the time but i have a 2022 model year without the divider up front. Great for putting food in there so it wont leave a smell in the cabin. Took it on a road trip from southern Virginia to New York and back with 3 other people. All our stuff fit in the back and the frunk. Blue cruise was nice to have on that trip.

The money issue is real. A real opportunity for used buyers. I just bought a 2022 GTPE with 5, 000 miles for $35K. CRAZY VALUE.

Just got a GT last month. Happy to hear about the lack of issues and how well the interior stood up.
I've had a few Fords and the quality on this Mach-E stands out. They really delivered on their first full EV

We just posted our three year review video as well. But we didn't have the same Mach-E for the whole three years. We upgraded our First Edition Mach-E in 2022 to a GT PE. We love it and it has been great! The extra power and MagneRide make a huge difference.

We review a lot of EVs but I'm always happy when I get back into the Mach-E.

Was hurt/snobby about it's nomenclature having owned gas mustangs. Randomly did a focus group of E-cars & this was by far the sleekest designed one in a room of its peers. Those styling cues were the ones that mimic the Mustang. Credit where its due

Thank you for being honest with the cost of lease. It creates a sense of transparency to the message you're trying to convey and is a well needed reality check for owning/driving a new car.

Just picked up a new 23’ GT. I am coming out of a 23’ Tesla Model 3 Performance that was totaled after an accident 😢. I will say the build quality of the Mach-E is so nice plus the deals that Ford is offering right now it was a no brainer for me. Thanks for the update on your Mach-E and good luck with the Macan EV!

Great wrap-up Matt. Your chronicles led me to get a used Mach-e GT and it's been exactly as advertised so far.

It has been very interesting to se your experience with this car. Especially since it was your personal car, and you let everyone know about the financial impact. Thanks!

We love our Mach E same espec as yours but wife put 22k in the first year and now the car has 36k with ZERO issues, if I have anything to complain about would the the suspension that we feel is on the harsh side especially with you riding in the back seat. Amazing car nonetheless.

As a Mach-E owner myself I’ll vouch for all of this, and add that I think it’s the best-looking EV out there this side of the Taycan.

We love our '21 Mach E. It's specc'd just like yours and is such a great commuter.

The random GT3 RS just casually chilling in the background.

That's crazy that they still use the OBDII port for firmware updates. Seems like a pretty big oversight, but it should be easy to correct.

The best thing about a frunk... Smelly dog towels, slobbery Chuck-It balls, muddy hiking boots, etc. can go in there.

I'm definitely not a crossover guy (or SUV guy, FWIW), but every time I see a Mach E on the road, I perk up. I really love the design and style of it, and I think Ford really did an awesome job at least with the aesthetics. Crazy to think that Ford used the Mustang moniker and actually delivered a mostly great electric vehicle! Good to know that the put some effort into it, instead of relying almost wholly on hype (**COUGHCybertruckCOUGH**).

Love to see this. Many so-called EV fans (Tesla bros) said Ford would fail. Detroit still brings the stuff when they set their mind to it. Their electric F150 is pretty darned good too.

Great update! One fix for the worn image on the track advance button is cover it with black electrical tape. If you can't see the wear, it doesn't exist.

Great video! You summed up your experience, detailed your numbers, and even answered the question of if you would buy it again. All in just 12 mins! I agree that leasing is the best way to have a predictable scenario, because the resale value on these tech-laden vehicles after ~5 yrs is an unknown.
