Wing Foil Easy Start on Low Small Volume Board, Rodeo Style

Rodeo Style Wing Foil starting on a low volume board. In this video it is a 60L board but I'm starting the same way with a 34L Armstrong Wing Sur 4'5 Board. My weight is 93 kg wet, -33 respect -59 on the 34L.

This is the absolute easiest way to start on a sinker board. Way easier than the so-called StinkBug Method or the pure Waterstart. You don't need that much energy to get up on the board because your board is moving forward from the beginning and you are always stable.

Also easy to start in choppy or wavy water and in wind from 13/14 kts.

Try this :-) and let me know how it works

To be continued :-)

Glad you posted this, it's an interesting thought, I don't know that everyone is that flexible, but I agree that gets you onto the kneel with the wing high above your head. Smart, glad it works for you, I'll give it a try.

Great video! I think it’s those moments just before take off where I am almost digging a rail... I can see that you have a great technique to get through that step effectively.

Based on a learning video, I started like that from the beginning: Board in position with wing alongside, kneel on board and directly push front tube down and yourself up... with getting the wing up in the same time (if necessary lean on the middle strut for a second)... and start cruising or flying...

Thank you for sharing this. I do the stinkbug (60L board and weigh 82kg) and I like the look do this technique. This video specifically helped me to visualise the order in which you do the movement: feet first onto the board followed very quickly by the knees and then pop up. Is that correct? You almost seem to do it in one flowing movement from bringing up the feet to bringing up the knees to popping up?)

I tried it on 100L board without success. I moved to 75 which is my weight still no luck. I am starting to think this is sinker board only. I can see that you push the tail of the board under the water.
