I take my boots to a professional shoe repair shop and have them extend the width of the calf of the boot to fit me comfortably. I have been doing so for many years and never had a problem but of course I made sure to stick to the same shop.

They will cut the boot and put elastic extensions in those spaces but the best part about it is that no one can tell unless you tell them yourself!😉
