My doctor told me I can only wear natural fabrics like cotton, linen, wool and silk.
I found out they basically do not make anything from natural products anymore.
Polyester, lycra, spandex, acrylic, etc are all basically made from petroleum by products.
They’re plastic.
They won’t break down and disintegrate for generations.
Their fibres are micro-plastics that are terrible for the smallest organisms.
Go look in your closet.
Everything’s plastic.
It’s unbelievable that they didn’t mention hemp or cotton...
we need to stop being such a consumer driven society.
We need to go back to owning fewer clothes and taking better care of them.
Not viewing clothes as disposable accessories to show off our “personalities”

Being more ‘green’ and environmentally conscious is my resolution for this year. If everyone made a small change it would add up

I love thrifting and I'm part of my school's environmental club, but it's unrealistic to think that most of the pollution doesn't come from the greed of the fashion industry. They need things to go out of style fast and be cheaply made and use sweatshops or even outright slave labor to make products. It is good to make changes in your own life and put your money where your mouth is, but even if you get your hipster-ass friends into it (I have) it's hardly going to make a dent, *not in time to actually prevent global catastrophe.* *It's time to stop putting the burden on consumers and start holding corporations accountable.* Not contributing to pollution and human and animal rights abuses, exonerating yourself from blame for what's happening to the world, is not the same as actively stopping it.

Most people don't care because its much easier not to

wow so watching this I have just realized that I've been practicing sustainable fashion since
was a young child. The main reason I know how to sew now is that my grandmother taught me to mend my clothes to give them a longer life. That and when I was younger my family couldn't afford much. It's not like that has changed I'm a young adult and still can't afford much so I mainly thrift and swap clothes with friends. Anyway, who doesn't like thrifting?

Style over fashion.

When it becomes fashion it is already dead.

Great video. I'm an upcycling artist and designer in Canada. There is so much potential for creativity while still being sustainable. I really hope more people open their minds to a more sustainable way of living and dressing.

It reminds me for the 2015 movie "The True Cost".

Truly life changing, thank you for posting this.♥️

I was always more into editorial fashion rather than commercial modeling. Luckily, I have friends who are into the same stuff.

The second biggest polluter is the meat and dairy industry, but still all in all the video makes good statement. Thrifting and upcycling is so much fun. Buy a cheap sewing machine and start doing wild stuff. So much stuff can still be worn, even fur (and I say that as vegetarian) - this stuff exists and there is no need to produce more

There are a lot of aware people, however the prices are insane for “vintage” second hand clothes especially in the uk

I think like on all things people will do whatever is easier. We need to not only educate but to make the choices the same amount of work or less in favor to the more sustainable.
