HTC Desire V Review

Yeah had to be quick, and was in the shop for an hour... Well i know how to use it, but cant tell you the battery life of course. Will follow up with another review, once it comes out in germany too.

The difference between a dual ACTIVE sim and a dual STANDBY sim cellphone is in the ease in switching sim cards. In the dual ACTIVE sim cellphone, the user can easily change from sim1 to sim2 in one press of a switch. User can return to sim1 again by just pressing the switch sim key again. But in the dual STANDBY, the user has to press switch key to change from sim1 to sim2 then has to specify that the new default sim is sim2 and wait for confirmation and restart.

Indeed. While the screen is perhaps the biggest consumer of energy on a phone, do not forget that your CPU is also running when the screen is off. Also the SAMOLED of the One S might lend it an advantage when watching movies, for example.

Personally if I could afford it I will get the One S over the Desire V. I really doubt a Cortex A5 is enough for Android.

actually, i was also considering the V because of the size, the dualsim & being a !GH processor.but really, i'm not an appfreak.lol, so i wont be installing apps on my phone so as not to slowly strain the RAM & internal memory.anyway, how long have you owned your C and V?& how long does your battery last for C and V in comparison?lets say just normal usage-texting, calling, a bit of music & camera?i tried both units as well when i visited the only shop here in my locality that sells HTC phones here.

The dualsim of the V is a great feature. With texting calling music and camera, battery life is good....about 30hours on C and 25 on V. I own a C not a V. I know about V since I use my friend's V more than he uses it lol. Both of them are good phones...but C just blows it out of the water

main attraction is its dual SIM. can it receive calls and sms by the 2 SIMs at same time. of course calls out one at a time?

no this is not an active dual sim phone. So when you are on call, you can't receive phone calls from the other number :) that caller will get an hear that the user is unreachable!!! :)

hey, really? Desire C is better than this Desire V? i'm planning to buy an HTC phone, and these two are my choices for my budget. i consider the V for its screen size and processor over the 600mhz, but as my research continues, many say that Desire C battery lasts longer than the V. is it true? please give me honest feedback since im new to this androidphones stuff. thanks. :) a friend suggested HTC over samsung for the longer battery life that's why i'm researching a lot about these.

Well I've tried both and own a Desire C. Find it extremely faster and better than the V. Yeah battery is longer on the C and even though it has a 600mhz processor, it still is faster than the V. And HTC have better battery lives than Samsung.

Wait, are you saying that you think that the Desire V will have better battery. I won't be so sure. The One S is running a 28nm CPU, compared to the 45nm on this. Moreover, the fact that the One S has a faster (much faster) CPU doesn't mean it will consume battery faster. Firstly, the 28nm CPU means that it inherently is power efficient. Secondly, since it's faster, it will be able to complete tasks faster and rapidly scale down to idle speeds.

I would wait for battery tests and reviews first.
