Yhh Zion for the transit visa, there is an exception for Ghanaians, you will not need a transit visa if you stay in the international transit zone (this means you can not go beyond a certain area, mostly you can not go outsite the airport, so it means you have to have connecting flight to be able to go through by switching flight in the same airport, if you have to switch airport in that country, forget it you will be stuck)

But a little clarification...You CAN actually board any airline you wish through Europe to your destination without a Transit Visa, however, the conditions in which it would need any form of Transit visa (whether visitors Schengen or Transit Schengen Visa) are: 1. If your transit would involve two or more Schengen regions, and 2. If for any reason, you need to exit the airport at the transit country (eg. if you need to change airports on your transit or you want to spend time outside the airport for any reason)...I think this needs to be emphasized because it's not entirely true that you CANNOT transit through Europe with Ewuropean airlines without a Schengen. My last travel to North America on KLM took me through Amsterdam without a Visa, because I wasn't exiting the airport and had no other stops within Europe. Anyway, you should always do a visa eligibility check with the Country's online embassy portal questionnaire before buying your ticket.
