Defeating Starscourge Redahn opens up a interesting underground areas. You can activate Redahn Festival either by progressing Ranni's questline, but much easier is be activating the Grand Lift of Dectus.

Found out what you have to do. You don’t only have to activate the grand lift once you do look for a grace point and rest and then talk to your maiden and then go back to red castle and the festival activates.

Started new game plus years ago & now I have to beat the two bosses again

If the portal isn't activated make sure to touch at least one grace in that new area after using your 2 keys

Why did they make accessing this boss so damn arduous? Kind of pisses me off that the game doesn't tell you what to do at all in this massive open world. Honestly it's been a while since I played and I hopped back on to find that I could do the dlc but messed up the side quests for the npcs cause I entered shadow keep before I should've and I killed certain bosses first. Also completely forgot how to activate the radahn festival. Thanks to you, I now remember

Just so you know you don’t have to fight renalla to access the grand lift there is actually a shorter way without actually having to fight her.

If you complete rannis questline you’ll get the age of stars ending by the way.

You can also kill certain bosses in the main game and the festival activities I did this in my first playthrough on release

3:01 when you go up the steps to the right you’ll see a bunch of chairs with a bloody table an on the side you’ll find a lvl 5 smithing stone!
