Questions asked in JEE Advanced are based on critical thought processes rather than direct application of concepts. For preparation of JEE Advanced, students have to focus on problems based on multi concept applications.

Ashish Arora Sir has taken up a case of Minimum Required Force to Slide Body in Spring System which is important for select in IIT. Work Energy Power is chapter 6 of Class 11 NCERT and is crucial in JEE preparation. These advanced illustrations cover all formulas and relevant solved examples from Work Energy Power and are useful for making notes for IIT JEE preparation.

Sir, how can we solve this question without using work energy theorem, by using NLM?... Sir one more thing... While solving the question first on my own, the work energy theorem did not strike my mind, so please sir tell me how u determine when to use W/E Th in such questions where it is not so obvious...

I used NLM, and got:

for m1,
kx = um1g

for m2,
F=um2g + kx
=ug(m1+m2)

whuch is not the case when we use WET... why?

How can we use wet it's only defined for conservative force and frictional force isn't conservative

Sir, when we draw the fbd of m2, for the given values of x and F, then the force acting on the block m2 in left direction ie, kx and limiting friction will exceed the value of F, in which case the block m2 can never move, and the spring will never have any extension? Is there any mistake in this analysis?

Sir, i want to know what would be the equation of motion of blocks at the instant of m2 sliding to analyze the situation more appropriately.
Sir please reply, I am confused.

Sir if at minimum conditions we can take velocity=0 then why can’t we take acceleration=0 (to balance the forces for block 2 also)?

How that force be a constant force becoz of presence of spring ?

Sir since m2 block is sliding on the surface ue to min const force F shouldnt it have a final velocity so that kinetic friction acts on it?

Sir, when we cancelled x at 2.11, havent we ignored or rejected the extra solution which would come up if we procedurely solved it as a quadratic equation?....also is it valid to cancel variable terms(common) in every equation in physics? plz

Sir will there be no velocity associated with m2

Sir, why we haven't considered work done by friction acting on m1 ((u)(m1)(g)(x))?

Sir by gain loss question for me is quite easy but i dont know how to use work energy plz tell is it all right or it is imp to learn work energy theorem

sir plzz tell that is there any limitation of W.E theorem..i mean can we use work energy theorem to solve any problem ...is it aplicable everywhere ??? sorry this ques is not related with this vedio

sir by using nlm i am getting F>= mu(M1+M2)

Dear sir why you not added the frictional work for m2

Why you haven't take vel of M2 in consideration in kE final?
