In this week's travel vlog we are back in Canada and we are giving our first impressions of Edmonton. Is it the most underrated city in Canada?

We start our day at Sherlock Holmes Pub in downtown Edmonton where we eat a strange version of a British breakfast. We enjoy a Yorkshire Benedict along with a refreshing beer. We then stroll around the streets of the downtown core, where we pass the Royal Alberta Museum, the Art Gallery of Alberta, and the Alberta Legislature building.
We then take the bus to the Green Onion Cake Man in order to see what all the fuss is about. After come coffee and cake at The Carrot Community Arts Coffee House, we reflect about the city and whether we would ever move to Edmonton. Finally, we get some delicious dinner at Uncle Ed's Ukrainian Restaurant. Here we eat things like Pierogi, Borscht, and Ukrainian pancakes.

We recently visited Canada for a few months, and we had a great time exploring places neither of us had been to before. Edmonton sometimes gets a bad rep, however, a lot of people are moving to Edmonton these days, so we had to see what all the fuss is about. We actually spent nearly a whole month in the city and we have to say, we quite enjoyed it. Let us know in the comments if you've ever been there and if so, would you move there? In the next few weeks we'll be releasing more North American content (Banff, Vancouver, Seattle and more) so make sure to subscribe so you don't miss it! As always, thanks for watching!😀- Brandon & Anja

Love the video! I have been to Edmonton several times but have not had the opportunity to really check it out. Now we have some info of places to go! Thanks for the review! Keep the videos coming! ❤️

Great video BUT every single YouTuber that bothers even coming to Edmonton always says the downtown is dead and never goes to Whyte Ave in the Old Strathcona neighbourhood which is the heart of Edmonton full of Restaurants, Pubs, Cafe's etc. It's Edmonton's main street where all the action happens.

rent a bicycle in the river valley and travel the largest Municipal park, plus longest bike/walking trail in Canada at 148 km long on both sides of the North Saskatchewan River.

😂 Sherlock Holmes pup I was the kitchen manager at the one in West Edmonton mall for 5 years. One of the best jobs I ever had. We left Edmonton in 2021 for Mexico. Best decision we ever made. ♥️
Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Mexico. 🇲🇽✌🏼🥰

If u were around some weeks ago, it was roasting hot over 35 Celsius. Most ppl wouldn't be walking around with that heat beating down on u.

Thanks for the video of my home city. Just if you come here again, i recommend. Heading away from downtown. Whyte Avenue is our bustling club scene curb side patios street performance and restaurants next to the university. The truth is that downtown Edmonton is still recovering from the pandemic and hasn't been the same. River valley is an excellent must-see as well, which is free. Etown is a nature lovers paradise. Lots and lots to see all the things that made me fall in love with this city.

The Sherlock Holmes Pub having the Hovis logo in the correct font on the exterior is the funniest thing!

That carrot cake is probably from Costco. 😂

Used to live in Edmonton a few years ago, right downtown. So surprised to see it so dead, it used to be one of the best summer cities in all of Canada, random events, markets, and festivals downtown all summer long, lots of food stalls, and the downtown farmers market (so very sad that's gone). Even with the people that go away for the summers, downtown used to be busy, especially along Jasper Ave (right near the Sherlock Holmes Pub). There was a lot of crime downtown when I lived there, though. A lot of people I know moved out of the city over the last couple of years. Glad you guys had a good time!

The Downtown area is generally pretty quiet during the weekends. It's more bustling when all the office workers are in the area.

So you know, Mundare is not in Edmonton, it's about 50 Km away and that's where Stanichy's head office is.

Noticed you were curious about tomatoes with that Yorkshire benedict. Tomato's are an (un)common serving with egg dishes. You'll typically find it available at older diners in Ontario at least. I think it's to add some acid to a salty/fatty dish.

All very solid places to go. Mundare is northeast of Edmonton and is home to the world's buggest sausage.
