Gunn (on Threads): "What I said was Bruce *could be* a couple years older than Clark. All I meant was I wasn't tied to Bruce and Clark being the exact same age." He also previously suggested Damian would be 12 or 13.

So, Gunn has never specified an age for Batman or the age gap, Fans get way too hung up on things like this. All that's needed is an actor who looks just old enough to believably have a 12-13 year old son. That's all. His exact age never needs to be mentioned.

I honestly dont mind, bruce, only being a couple of years old. i feel like it would mess with their dynamic if bruce is too old

Theoretically, if Batman became Batman at 21, got Talia pregnant at 22/23, and Damian’s 13, He could be as young as 35.

Damien will be no more than 13. I’m thinking 12 or 13 but probably 13. Which means Bruce can be 35 to 38. If he is 35, he would’ve had Damien at 22. Which would make a lot of sense. And by that math, if Batman is 9 or 10 years older than Nightwing, that would make dick 26 or 25. In comics Bruce is anywhere from 10 to 20 yearsolder than Dick Grayson. And in some iterations, I think it’s even seven. Very easy to do

If I can recall, the aging process of Kryptonians is much slower than the aging process of humans on earth. When they start life they’ll age like normal up until they reach their prime, upon which the begin to age exponentially slower, thus making it seem like they’re immortal. It’s likely the “age gap” between Batman and Superman in Gunn’s DCU has to do with this difference in the two species’ aging processes.

I get why people see Batman being older as a way of him being more experienced, but honestly it all depends. If he started being Batman in his mid to late 20s, he could have adopted several sidekicks over the years before Damien. How long they operated as a sidekick before operating on their own etc probably varies immensely as well seeing as comics are kind of timeless and all this uncharted time will have happened offscreen. I think mid 30s early 40s would be the best bet for Batman. Still though it’s going to be awhile before we see anything anyway. By that time like you said Superman (David) will be in his mid to late 30s.

THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD should be the last DCU project in Phase 1. That would distance it from Reeves' THE BATMAN and would make a great bookend for Phase 1. (Starts with Superman and ends with Batman)

Alan Richtson is that one guy that can add soul to james gunn's batman, just think about his sheer physical appearance similar to the big man Arkham batman

The most beloved and iconic versions of these characters, the ones from the DCAU have at least a 10 year age gap due to when their ahows came out and where Batman was in his career at the time.

If the DCAU can have a generational gap between Superman and Batman, there's no reason the DCU can't do it too.

I think start with Damian is too help with doing the full bay family. If they start with dick then there is no room for every batfamily member to get their story told properly. Even if they made projects for each one it would be too much Batman in the DCU. Starting with Damian the rest of the batfamily can have more minor roles in the movies. And still have some solo projects, or appear in other projects

They could be roughly the same age if Bruce has Damien when hes in his early 20s. James Gunn did say that Robin would be a 12 to 13 year old. Bruce could be 35, and Clark is 31.

Maybe they will change the story Bruce Wayne and Talia al ghul conceived Damian when Bruce was in his early twenties when he was training with the league of assassin's before he came back to Gotham City and became batman so batman could be 35 to 38 when he meets damian

I'd hate it but they could do what the New 52 did where they crammed Batman's entire history in like 10 years where he had all the Robin's, had his back broken, and Nightwing took up the mantle but he was only like 33

Batman should be at least 40’s maybe down the road as the dcu evolves. We can have a Batman beyond movie.
