I went with 14" exactly because of portability. And you are so right, after sitting a the desk all day for a 9-5, the last thing I want is to keep sitting at that same desk for another 5-6 hours of editing, so I take it to a couch or something.

But also, you said: if you are not planning on moving it much and it will be at your desk all the time, then go with 16". Well if my laptop is at my desk, I will hook it up to a screen 100%, for more screen real estate. So then whats the point of having a 16" at your desk, if it will be hooked up to a monitor? I decided - I can always make a 14" be bigger via a monitor, but I cannot make a 16" smaller for travel.. So 14" it is!

"... and I cannot lie" 😂🤣I completely agree. The 16 is amazing to use and I love it - but that 14 is probably the sweet spot for most users!

I went with the 16. I love a bigger screen, plus better speakers, i bring my 16 to work everyday and don"t feel its too big and heavy.

Great video. I've litterally watch over 20-30 videos on this topic of the new MacBook pro choices. You've nailed it. You deserve an award!

14” for me, previous MBP was the 2018 15” version. As a General Contractor I’m constantly on the move. 14” hits the sweet spot

16” was my sweet spot! Don’t plan on traveling much with it. The 14” was super tempting, ya dig. But the price wasn’t that much more.

I think you get used to either size without missing the other. I am switching to 16 for the speaker sound quality and screen real estate at the cost of portability. However you also get better battery life with 16".

I had the MacBook Air and couldn’t stand how small it was for editing video, so I got rid out of it and have been waiting forever for the 16” to arrive. I use my 12.9” iPad Pro for portability when traveling, but I don’t mind lugging a 16”. I had a 17” in college and it was fine. I typically travel with a backpack, so the 16” will be fine

I have always preferred smaller laptops but for the very first time I am considering the 16". Yes, it has more area for editing etc. but the main reason is because I watch lot of films/videos and with that big HDR screen and speakers it would make a great viewing device when I'm not around a TV.

I'm going for the 16, I've worked on smaller screen laptops at my job and I always find myself inhibited by the screen real estate. I currently have a 18" MSI gaming laptop and its a beast to take with me. So going from this behemoth to a 16" macbook pro will not be an issue. Great video, appreciate your point of view!

I really really wanted the 14, completely intended to get it, but then I found a 16 in stock and, being as impatient as I am, went for it. As I get older, my eyes are not what they used to be (TBH they were never that great haha) and I definitely appreciate the larger screen of the 16. I lose some of the real estate because I increased the zoom a level from the default. Don't get me wrong, I would love the 14 for the portability, but I'm happy I got the 16 and don't regret it.

My current machine is 16” MacBook Pro 2019. I only move it from room to room on one level. I love the extra space to rest my hands as I use the keyboard. The new 16” has an amazing larger screen which will be helpful in my work in design. It is so comfortable whether I am sitting at a desk, curled up on the couch, everywhere. The 14” looks amazing as well. I ordered the new 16”, taking a real hit on my old 16”, I’m mov’in on.

About 1.5 years into my M1 Pro 14" MBP, I'm wishing that I had gotten the 16" instead. My next machine will probably be the larger size, because while I like the portability, even when I'm on the go I need more of a workstation. Changing the scaling to the smallest option has definitely helped.

Real talk, I was able to use the 14inch anywhere I want and not feel fatigue like I always get with the dell xps15. I can't imagine using the 16 inch the way I be using the 14 on couch, bed, bathroom, standing up, etc. You just can't do that comfortably with the 16, xps15 was already uncomfortable to use on my couch and I fatigue a lot quicker. Experience is much better for the 14 and do not regret getting the 14 inch. So glad I didn't go with the 16 due to my experience with Dell xps 15.

I been back and forth and finally settled for 16. Tried them both in the store and I don't travel alot like that just from school and internships where I'm on a desk alot anyway. Coming from a 13 I'm looking forward to it

I went with the 16”. My work computer is a 14” screen and for me that’s too small to do any type of multi tasking on. If I need something portable I use my iPad Pro. But the screen and speakers on the 16” are awesome! In college I used the 15.4” and didn’t find it too big for carrying in my backpack and around campus. The only instance where I would get the 14” is if I was using it on planes a lot, the 16” is a no go on those tray tables!

I just don't know! I have the 16" right now.. thinking of returning it and going down to 14"..The 16 is certainly massive.

I ordered a 16" right after the announcement. Then as more and more videos came out, I started to question both the size and my particular configuration. Did I really need the M1 MAX? Would I get benefit from 24 graphics cores. So I went to the Apple Store, looked at and lifted both models and realized I'd overbought. Cancelled my 16" order and ordered a 14" instead. Still 32GB memory, still 1TB SSD, but an M1 PRO with 16 graphics cores. It'll be more than enough for my photographic work.
