Julian Lennon Talks 'Hey Jude' And Officially Changing His Name | Good Morning Britain

We’re joined by the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and son of the late great John Lennon (and his first wife, Cynthia), to talk about the prospect of Eurovision being hosted in Liverpool, his (and the Beatles) home city, and his new album Jude - a nod to the infamous “Hey Jude” (written by Paul McCartney to console the young Jules amid his parents divorce). He’s just released a climate change song and earlier this year, he also recorded a cover of his father's “Imagine” to raise funds for Ukraine.

I honestly feel bad for John Lennon. His mistake led him to miss out on his son's life. He missed out on this sweet child that grew up to be this incredible man. A good man. Julian, you made your mum proud alright. May you have all the happiness you so rightly deserve.

i have alot of respect for julian, he no doubt had to deal with alot since his dad died, court cases suing his fathers estate, i am sure he loves his father, but...an example sean and John have the same birthday, julian posted on seans birthday last year and said happy birthday to my brother but he didnt say dad...we all pretty much knew why ... john left julian practically nothing in his will

Julian is one really great, level-headed human being.

You can hear it in his voice that he genuinely cares deeply for Cynthia's well-being.

The fact that he is John Lennon's son could have easily skewed his humble attitude.

Credit to Julian for the quality man he is and to his mother Cynthia for raising him so well, and Paul McCartney for showing his support and writing "Hey Jude" for Jules or Julian. No doubt Cynthia is a wonderful mother, and she deserved much better. She like Julian truly took a "sad song and made it better."
