I wouldn't call the M1A1 on par with the Leo 2 and Chally 2. We have the M1A2 and all Sep upgrades since then and now working on M1A3. The A1 is not up to date by any means but it's better than no tank at all I guess.

Well let's be real folks i'm an American I love my Abrams tanks but we all knew Ukraine was not going to be able to use these for the simple fact they do not have enough of them. in fact the Abrams has been pulled off the front lines of Ukraine it's unknown if they were shipped back or they are in the rear protecting the capital of Ukraine. it's not due to their lackluster performance whatsoever due to the fact that they don't have enough stock to draw from for parts. and like I said since day one Ukraine does not need main battle tanks they need a bunch of lightly armored vehicles with an auto cannon and a bunch of low-cost on the shelf drones not made by American defense contractors.

MBT (Abrams and others) are effective with combine arms. The doctrines use of Abrams is not a one-man army. Pair it with anti drone armor, install a mine plow.

Almost every time someone has something negative to say about the performance of the Abrams in Ukraine, their reasoning is really vague. "Too vulnerable FPV drones" That applies to all tanks. "Designed for combat in the desert" No it wasn't, and how exactly would it be if it was?
The main problem with the M1 is that the U.S. didn't provide Ukraine with a good HE round for engaging entrenched positions. That's a pretty serious issue, but regardless, most people who had something negative to say about it didn't know what the fuck they were talking about.

Hmm Yes and No Drones are the wild card- the front is VAST tanks have been primarily used as mobile artillery by both sides. Why the UAF loves the Leopard 1A5- light in armor but fast with an acceptable 105 gun and easier logistics compared to its modern brothers Leopard2s, Abram’s or Challenger2s.
