Continuing a previous post, here is “the other side” of Devil's Galop titled “The Old Clockmaker”, composed by Charles Williams (1893-1978) and played by Charles Williams and his Concert Orchestra.
It went on sale to the public on the Columbia label in 1948 (D.B.2448) after it had gained popularity as the theme for a BBC program called “Jennings At School”, based on the stories by Anthony Buckeridge.
The original version was a Chappell Library recording from 1946 (C.238) and was not commercially available.
This version by Charles Williams own orchestra is played at a slightly faster tempo than the original.
