Just noticed that the Ethereal thinks that the Emperor is physically active not knowing that he is on life support .Makes me wonder how will they react to a Primarch or the Custodian Companions since they are the ones other than those given the Auditorii Imperator that could directly talk to the Emperor or have a personal audience with him.

It's always fascinating reading of earlier tau takes on the Emperor, as seen here where he clearly thinks that the Emperor is active. By now though i am sure they figured out that he is not really the ruler of the Imperium, not practically, at least.

A Tau once vomited after realizing a ship he destroyed was boarded. Now imagine what would be if the Night Lords would still be loyal and used to reclaim a world from the Tau.

Ironically Tau and Humanity have one of the most peaceful relations in 40k.

While occasionally in the past both sides campaigned against each other. In the modern setting they even coexist on multiple planets with both Imperial Guard and Tau garrisons.

In the Ciaphus Cain series one of the books had Tau and Imperium culture sharing, and while awkward, both sides actually got along fine enough and was only temporarily disrupted because a genestealer cult was doing false flag operations
