That one little winged demon's support for the bard's performance is so wholesome.

Full series on this would be pretty humorous.

The double dash rouge running into all the attacks of opportunity was hilarious

This could be an amazing animated series that goes for like 10 seasons.
Please make it happen!

The Barbarian missing after taking forever to decide what to do is a soul crushing thing that has happened to all of us.

🤣that one player who keeps shoving the other players is on point. Having everyone fight zhalk for his everburning blade instead of trying to win also got me. Please make this a series!

that tutorial sequence was amazing. The taking forever to decide your turn, immediately followed by the action failing is too real

Nailed how it feels when everyone is idling while in combat as you slowly choose your skills, only to miss. Every. Damn. Time.

I'm so happy to hear Larian sponsored this, it's well deserved!
I've been playing the game with friends since launch, we've already beat it once are still going strong, it's just too good. This is a great start, here's to hoping this ends up being a long series!

Hahah I lost it at the barbarian running up to the imp and then taking 50 years to decide what to do

I'm so glad you're getting the recognition you deserve. The fact that Larian sponsored this is not only a great compliment to your talent, but also to Larian's passion. They really do stand out from most of the industry. Watching interviews of not only the devs, but the voice actors, shows how much joy their project gave them. Most of the time other companies come off as sleazy used car salesmen, but with them it is very clear that it is genuine. I really hope you make some more BG3 content. That was funny AF. 😂

Way to go, Larian; it's a great way to support the community, @CarbotAnimations been doing great animations for a while now, that are witty, funny and definitely a great watch with my morning coffee. BG3 on my 4th restart, fantastic game, and great to see the partnership!

I pray you continue this series. We will watch every episode. I wouldn't be surprised if Larian let you make some plushies, too.

You can literally make one video for each battle encounter because of how unique and funny they could be. Goes to show the quality of BG3.

0:02 Welcome to Baldur's Gate 3! This game is based on the rules and lore of Dungeons & Dragons, and these characters are all possible ways to play the game, all with their own abilities, playstyle and lore. Between brackets you can find a short, general background for the characters. Usually they dont have much influence on the game, but pay close attention to the Barbarian with the Dark Urge background. It will come back later...
00:14 This handsome fellow is a nautiloid. Its basically a space-squid, but although it is organic (made of flesh) it isnt alive. It is usually used by mindflayers, which are essentially an evil, highly intelligent hivemind of tentacle aliens with psychic powers.
00:21 The mindflayers abduct people to give them parasites that turn them into mindflayers. Coincidentally, the main characters in this story all have been kidnapped and given a parasite as well, which is where the game starts.
00:28 The first memorable thing you come across is a dead man missing the top half of his skull, whose brain psychically calls for help...
00:31 and it turns out the brain in question is an intellect devourer, a pet/minion of the mindflayers that can consume someone's intelligence with psychic powers. It calls itself 'Us' and can be recruited if you free it.
00:35 The girl begging to be freed is Shadowheart, one of the companions who can either accompany your main character in your party or be selected as a playable character herself at the start of the game. Sadly the game only allows 4 characters at once to roam the map, so in a multiplayer campaign with 4 players they are pretty useless outside of story purposes.
00:41 The party opens a sphincter (yes, that's how this ship works, don't question it too much) and steps into a fight. Carbot doesnt show this, but due to some shenanigans the nautiloid has ended up in literal hell, and its inhabitants dont take kindly to unwanted visitors. The mindflayer fights a cambion, a half-demon, which is the first boss you can try to take down.
00:50 Combat has started! Every battle starts by rolling for initiative. This determines who gets to go first, because combat in BG3 goes in turns...
00:55 ...and to be fair, the turns can take a while to complete. Don't expect too much in the way of fast-paced action.
1:09 The Barbarian decides to go for a normal melee attack, and it misses. Low level characters will probably see this quite often. The power gap between levels and equipment can be pretty nuts at times, and more importantly, perks and stat increase, while not easy to get your hands on, can make a huge difference in how effective your weapons will be. It is also good to mention that asides from the normal action someone can take, there is also a bonus action, that allows someone to do something like drink a potion or jumping onto something. Just something you can do within a second, so to say.
1:16 Josh the Wizard casts Mage Hand, a small spectral hand that can grab or pull on things that are out of reach for the wizard himself. A very solid choice considering the fact that the mission is to connect a transponder to get out of hell.
1:20 Unfortunately wizards are EXTREMELY vulnerable to enemy attacks. If enemy units target your wizard they need to die soon before something like this happens too often.
1:23 This guy is a bard, which means in combat he casts his spells by playing an instrument. He uses a Healing Word on himself, which is the first healing spell a caster can get. Sadly its not very good at lower levels, but its there for times of need.
1:44 And there's the rogue: subterfuge specialists and hidden blades. Rogues are able to take 'cunning actions', which allows them to use their bonus action for 'Dash', which adds +100% movement to someone's moving pool. Demeanour here tries this out for herself, running to the console by using both her action and her bonus action to dash...
1:55 Bad idea! Every time you walk away from an enemy in Baldur's Gate 3, they can get in an attack of opportunity, a free melee strike to whoever runs out of their reach with their melee weapon. The Rogue is taking multiple hits for no reason and ends up being knocked out, but that doesnt mean she dies just yet. More on that in another point.
2:07 Two more cambion come in after a few turns, not as powerful as the first one, but still a force to be reckoned with.
2:18 The commanding cambion has a unique sword, the first unique weapon in the game. Its not amazingly good, but it does a good job in the early levels of killing your foes with an extra bit of fire damage nonetheless. However, once the allied mindflayer dies one should probably forget about the weapon and just run for the objective.
2:25 Knocked out characters have to throw death saves to see if they live or die. The little icon above their head shows how many death saves have been thrown so far, and each turn a 50-50 chance die is rolled. 3 successes or 3 failures and you stand up or die permanently, depending on the outcome. Also, the mage hand can interact with small-ish objects, like the lever here.
2:32 The ship crashlands and that's where the true game begins and the tutorial is over.
