My Reaction - Sister Wives s17e7

I'm one of the kids from SisterWives and I bring a unique perspective (if it's possible to get any more unique than reality tv polygamists) to my family's lifestyle as an autistic bisexual. Since I am such a niche character, I thought I'd share what I've been through for people to understand and for others to relate.

Kody not supporting Ysabel during her surgery is unforgivable. He didn’t have to be gone 6-8 weeks, just the acute surgical period. He has lost the plot.

My heart breaks for Truely because she, Sol and Ari are fairly close in age and to see how dismissive he is towards her while he is this amazing, loving father to the other two and that is coming from a complete stranger. It must make you angry to see how he talks about Truely when he wants to poke your mom, but when it comes to actual interactions he seems to be severely lacking.

And Gabe....Gabe broke my heart and, as a mother, I wanted to reach through the TV and smack the crap out of Kody.

While everyone's commenting on this, we need to put our own feelings aside and remember, these are her parents / her family. No matter how we may feel about them, be respectful to her and remember the above.

Gwendlyn, you do such a good job of giving us your point of view while being respectful and loving! It can be difficult to go from being an "adoring child" to a critical thinking adult when negotiating a relationship with your parents, but you're killing it! You're a great example of how you can love and respect a parent as a human being without agreeing with some of their beliefs, attitudes, or behaviors.

I am always so amazed by Truly's maturity and her ability to vocalize at such a mature level. She does a better job vocalizing and honoring her feelings that I do and I'm in my 40s!

It says it all that he doesn't consider being with Christine and their children as being with family. It must hurt so much and I hope that all of you kids are able to heal from this

I think Kody likes to officiate weddings because he is in the spotlight. He seems to think he is more important than the bride and groom. He was so into himself at Maddie's wedding. I would have been upset if I was Maddie. Her own dad turned his own daughter's wedding into all about him.

He wants 50/50 so he doesn’t have to pay child support. So sorry you’re having to watch this, it’s hard enough to live through let alone watch it on TV!

All your dad had to do was go for 5 or 6 days to NJ for Ysabel’s surgery, just until she was out of the woods. However, he chose not to. I’m glad you were able to be there for her. ♥️
