Porsche Taycan GTS 2022 review

This is the all-new Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, and Mat’s about to find out if it truly is the ‘sweet spot’ in the Taycan range.

Why do we say that we hear you say? Well, let’s look at the entry-level and the range-topping editions. The cheapest entry point is the RWD Taycan, which comes with 400hp and costs £74,000. At the top end, you have the Turbo S, which comes with almost 800hp and costs £139,000+.

So then you have the Taycan GTS, which is equipped with two electric motors to deliver 598hp, with a starting price of £104,000. So, lots of power, but at a much cheaper price than the Turbo S!

But is it worth it? And should you choose the GTS Sport Turismo over the competition? You’ll have to keep watching to see for yourself!

This is one of the few electric cars which don't go out of their way to look electric. It's just a beautiful car which happens to be an ev.

Man, this car is so promising. You get sportiness as well as practicality. It is quicker than most of the cars out there and full of so many cool things. There's very little to loathe about this car.

The reason your Vbox is having so much trouble tracking the 0-60 mph speeds is that the sound/heat insulated glass option tends to block a lot of RF, and other EM frequency signals, interfering with some mobiles, radar detectors, etc.

So it's probably messing up the box ability to detect GPS satellite signals and properly calculate your speeds from inside the car

Well Matt, since I do have a Taycan turbo with the heat insulated windows among other options. I can tell you that the windows are the reason you cannot get GPS signal in the car. I've got an online radar alert system that struggles with the same things. It's those windows, they not only blocks the sunlight, they block other wave lengths as well, it turns out.

The Taycan is the only EV I can think of that actually has character.

I suspect the double glass is restricting the satellite signal. That and rear wheel steer are optional, not standard.
