Can a single sequence of amino acids form more than one three-dimensional fold to achieve different physiological functions? The bacterial transcription factor RfaH has been shown to undergo extreme conformational transformation. It is able to switch between two completely different secondary and tertiary structures, each with a specific physiological function.
