A bit more on Tarn, originally a dude called Damus, but he was called “Glitch” by everyone as he had the outlier ability to shut down non sentient machinery with his touch. He would later refine this ability to allow him to shut down machinery with nothing but his voice, including other cybertronians. Megatron intentionally corrupted him basically to prove a point, as glitch was at one point sort of friends with Optimus.

The name Tarn, like the rest of the names of the DJD is a code name, with each members name being that of one of the cities that the decepticons captured during the war. If Tarn were to ever die, and have someone replace him, that new bot would take the name Tarn.
The DJD are nightmare fuel, an elite team designed to hunt down and kill anyone on their “list” which is basically and decepticon that deserts the cause or intentionally goes against the greater objectives.

Prowl once said that Tarn was at the same power level as a phase-sixer, which for those who don’t know consists of bots like Overlord and Sixshot who are practically invincible.

I’ve actually been writing a Transformers universe of my own (I wrote the first fan movie script with 142 pages that started before the war and then ended with the Autobots fleeing) and in the second one, Tarn is introduced but he has a different origin. The origin I gave Tarn was that Unicron created him to help him defeat the primes and Primus eons ago. He was defeated, then eons later he would be brought back through Devastator’s vortex grinder and wants to destroy every Cybertronian in every universe except for Unicron. In my continuity, he can throw Optimus around like a fucking rag doll. I made him even more terrifying

In the alternate and quite frankly, worse reality were Megatron didn't exist, a Non-Tarn Damus appears to be listening to the former Decepticon and current Autobot Megatron make an inspiring speech about reaching the masses through empathy to overthrow the tyrannical Functionalists. So that's one place where he didn't become a sociopathic murder machine
