I don’t think I’d want to spend the time it takes to have an exotic pet. But platypus are my favorite i don’t recall seeing a baby platypus out of water. They must be the most adorable animal.

That baby Platypus looks a lot like a baby echidna. I live in a beautiful part of Australia with plenty of wildlife. It's great to watch them in their own habitat instead of at a zoo.

I have most of these adorable creatures in a perfectly legal, stuffed/plush version. Very easy to take care of and has no upkeep costs. The biggest bonus is that no animal was yanked out of the natural habitat it belongs to find death due to my inability to provide proper care.

Some of these restrictions, at least with cheetahs, are of relatively recent origin. I can remember as a little kid in the 1970's seeing a guy with a cheetah on a leash in Manhattan. New York was a pretty messed up place back then so I don't know if it was illegal back then and people just let it slide.
