There is an alternative route to get down here...(I have no idea if this stops Ranni's questline)
But if you progress normally through the hole after Radahn you will eventually meet the duo Gargoyle fight after they're dead progress through the coffin near the water fall which takes you to the Deeproot Depths and after progressing northwest there is a site of grace near the edge of the map with a coffin near it & that takes you directly where the Renna's Rise portal takes you
