That printer is not set up right. You can get A LOT more detail out of them, those layers are way to separated and the support-roof looks really messy. Try posting a few prints on reddit at /r/FixMyPrint or /r/3DPrinting, they can give you lots of tips on settings, different plastics (and the brand, that matters a lot) etc. A good print will still have visible lines, but they should be really shallow and you can hide them with primer or filler primer. Also, you can use both smaller nozzle (0.4mm is standard, 0.2mm is pretty good for small details) and lower layers (this is just a setting-thing, no parts needed). Standard layer height is about 0.2mm, and using 0.12 gives you better quality. Don't give up, 3D printing is a great tool for any scale modeller. I use an Ender 3 for stuff like 1:24 scale tools for garage dioramas, and lots of other things

It may not be great for parts for kits but a friend of mine printed some hobby accessories for me. Paint stands, sprue holders, brush holders etc. You could print alot of storage solutions.

What about to make a Supra jza80 Veilside full kits for 3D printer?

every 3d printing channel i've seen got a Elegoo Mars for review, maybe they would send you one? resin is so much better for smaller scale but these can be very good for bigger things

You shoud try out the small resin 3D printers like Elegoo Mars or Anycubic Photon as they can do really nice small details, they can do usable parts for our hobby.

I hear good things about the resin printers from Anycubic. I have their i3 Mega filament printer and it’s a pretty nice unit.

A little fine tuning layer heights and temperature settings in your slicer program can help produce even better results.

I have the Anycubic Photon and have printed some fantastic and very small pieces for my projects. It has defiantly been an asset to my modeling and has given me the freedom to create some awesome things! Personally I have no need or desire to use a filament printer simply because they fail miserably with small prints!

I have a fair bit of experience with Anycubic Photons. Both the original and the S version are wonderful for model parts. I can't recommend them enough. However, their customer service is pretty crummy. Not super bad or anything, there's just some improvements that could be made to their communication.

Luke Towan was recently sent an Elfin 3D printer to review. Maybe Elfin would send you one too. They seem to be just as good as the Photon print quality-wise. But I can't speak to those as all of my first hand experience is with Photons. Which are very good.

Certainly would help to get some practice with drawing programs (Fusion360 etc) so you don't have to rely on others' 3D files which might not have been drawn to suit our scale. But it's a bit of a learning curve. I used to draw wheels and other parts by commission and there is a huge demand for that so maybe not may people want to learn a whole new sub-hobby lol!

With your printer, (the type of which I've never used) You could totally print lots of cool stuff like little vices and parts holders, jigs for making sure wheels are glued on straight, airbrush holders etcetcetc. SO much room for cool 3D printed parts! Just not super precise stuff like you said. For things like that resin is 100% the way to go. I designed a blade holder a while ago that holds 10 #11 hobby blades, to make cutting a lot of masking tape strips at once. I've designed tons of wheels, a few tyres, interior parts, engine parts etcetcetc. Our hobby is experiencing an influx of so many leaps forward in what's possible! Definitely anyone pondering getting a resin printer should! I'm happy to answer anyones questions about resin printing I can on Instagram @slowlysmodels :)

With your type of model making a resin printer would be a much better fit.

Keep in mind that since that resin is UV-curing, it's usually a good idea to make a curing station using a decent sized plastic container with a lid, some aluminium tape and a cheapo UV light LED strip off eBay. Faster than letting it cure outside in the sun and allows for much better control (e.g. position the parts using a cheap wire coat hanger).

Unlike a filament printer that needs to move its print head, a consumer-grade resin printer (professional, laser-powered ones are a different story) exposes the entire layer at once, using an LCD panel (usually surplus from smartphone production) to control where the UV light is allowed to pass (resin hardens) and where it isn't (stays liquid), so make sure it has at least a Full-HD resolution panel.

Can you do a video on what paints to go for while doing scale car modeling?
I'm sure there are many without much idea about Acrylic, Lacquer and Enamel paints. And if possible, some features about these paints too.
Thank you

I think this isn't the right video to ask for it but this is your latest video.

Hello there The Scalemodeling Channel i see that you have enter the 3D printing word a really exciting way to do more things like say car parts, garage tools, dioramas and maybe scale cars with some practice time but i must ask you when the next part of hertz mustang bulid coming.

Mmm, something like DarkDragonwing's 1:10 RC chassis... looks like a prospect, I know I'd be getting no actual modeling done.
