"Whistleblowers are seldom seen as heroes. Instead they are often viewed through a negative lens, described as troublemakers, disloyal employees, traitors, snitches, and, in South Africa as 'impimpis' or informers".

These words from the back cover of Mandy Wieners latest book The Whistleblowers,

Joanne Joseph, popular broadcast journalist, anchors a conversation with Mandy Wiener, Felix Dlangamandla (photographer) Thabiso Zulu, Catherine Hunter (sister of Rosemary Hunter, who exposed the rot in the Financial Services Board over unpaid pension benefits) Colette Ashton (Anti-corruption attorney) and myself, to urge for Civil Society to mobilisation on all fronts to cleanse the contagion of corruption from society.

The ninth out of 12 instalments of conversations with Tough Minds, Tender Hearts and Steady Hands, to distil wisdom within the Covid19 pandemic.

Thank you for putting this together. Mechanisms sjould be in place to protect and support Whistleblowers and to encourage more people to expose corruption in our society both in public and private sectors!

I just have one word… AMAZING. The only word for me that encompasses the depths of despair and the mountains of awe I feel for all involved.

I would like to say… AMAZING. The only word that can encompass the depths of despair and the mountain of awe for humans involved.
